Human Evolution

Where does human history begin? A few thousand years ago, with Adam & Eve? Or as far back as the last common ancestor of humans and apes---over 5 million years ago? Here's some useful stuff on the wonderful world of bones, aka, Paleoanthropology.

  • The Talk.Origins Archive This is a fantastic site for anything connected with evolution. It is maintained by active members of the "Talk.origins" newsgroup. Included below are a number of especially useful pages from this site.
  • Jury-Rigged Design Way to go, God! An occasionally hilarious, occasionally gross, collection of articles about plants and animals that got stuck with some pretty dumb things.
  • Hominid Species A clear, six-page description of our ancestors, from Ardipithecus to Homo sapiens sapiens (us!)
  • Fossil Hominids So how do we know about those million-year old dead guys? Click here for the best of the bones---all the famous hominid fossils, with lots of pictures.
  • The Pope's Message on Evolution It's about time! Last year the Catholic Church acknowledged the convincing evidence for evolution, and made the case for a Christian acceptance of the theory.
